Jobs, Greatest Disparity between Black and White Americans says National Urban League

The National Urban League released its annual State of Black America (SOBA) report on Thursday, March 31, under the theme Jobs Rebuild America: Putting Urban America Back to Work. “According to their research, the state of black America is, well, a little bit worse than it was last year,” reports the Root.

At 15.3 percent, black unemployment is nearly double the national average of 8.9 percent.  SOBA offers a 12-point solution to joblessness. http://www.nul.org/content/12-step-blueprint-jobs-plan.  Check out the plan and see how you could support it.

Historically known as the analytical arm of the civil rights movement, the National Urban League has long advocated for racial equality through the spectrum of research and data. The organization continued that tradition on Thursday with the release of its annual The State of Black America report, this year under the theme "Jobs Rebuild America: Putting Urban America Back to Work." According to their research, the state of black America is, well, a little bit worse than it was last year.
